Really cool box!!! What is it? Need Help....

The box is about 3 inches by 3 inches and 1 1/2 inches thick. It is leather and dates to the early 1900's.
It was made in italy.
can anyone tell me what it is and what the designs mean on the front of the box?

The tongs , axe , sword and shield remind me of blacksmithing but that's all I got.
Really nice and proubally out of timeline for smithing but clues are just that just gotta sort them out

The leather is not sewn rather it appears to be one piece. I am really looking for a definitive answer so hopefully someone can provide that for me.
