Good ID, but being a rare coin means lots of copies.

You need to take more pictures of it like Don requested, especially the obverse, a picture of the side of the coin would help also.:icon_thumleft:

Honestly can't really take more pics cause for one thats my last coin protect that its in, two don't really want to handle it any more than I have to (kinda funny like that), three not really sure whats wrong with the pictures I have on here now, I can see them just fine. Anyway if anyone had got a idea on how to test this rare coin to see if it a counterfeit please reply. Also are we talking new copy or old (from the time of Rome) copy. Whats your thought? Oh yea thanks FoundInNC for nailing that id I'm truly in your debt clearly like me you got no problem seeing the images.

First of all I really hope this coin turns out to be genuine or at least a contemporary copy/forgery. But I fail to see what the problem is about taking a photo of the obverse that is at least approaching some form of sharp focus. If the coin is to be accurately identified, then the image must be of a good enough quality to be able to place more than just a guesstimate, unless you are happy with a guess?.

Agreed; clearly the reverse looks similar, but IMO the out-of-focus obverse does not appear to be the same image as FoundinNC posted. The differences are obvious enough so no need to mention them.

More pictures are completely out of the question, to me it kinda like the Stroud of Torren it only comes out of it protect once every so many years again I'm really funny like that. If you just have to have a prefect pic just look at the one FoundInNC provided cause its exactly like it trush me on it. Anyway enough of the picture issue lets move on. Is it safe to say if it is silver than its a genuin real roman coin and if that is true what is a neat trick to see if its silver. Also if coin turns out to be silver is it still posible its a fake. Please reply. I mean no disrespect to anyone on here. Think about it guys if we can prove this coin genuin it could put this forum on the map and everyone who help would get a piece of the action.

The coin you have is not the Roman coin provided in the link, if you don't want to remove it from it's shroud :dontknow: you won't get a positive ID, as like Don says, the reverse looks the same as the one in the link, but the Obverse does'nt. I don't like to make a judgement on a coin from a picture, but if I were a buyer, I would be staying away from this one.

I hate to burst your bubble mister but T,net. is on the map! My eyes are good and I also see that the coins posted are not the same? What is a coin slip worth compared to an accurate coin ID?

Got a news flash for all the haters I fully examined the cion in question with a loop and yes it is 100% I repeat 100% the exact coin FoundInNC posted. So now that thats settled let us get on with the task of somehow testing for silver. Is it posible I can weigh it? Oh ya to all the haters you really think someone would counterfeit the back exactlly than pull a image of a woman on the front... really... come on really.

Somehow you have assigned the stigma of 'haters' to those who wish to assist you with a proper ID. I don't know where that response is coming from, but I can see the Welcome' mat is not out for beliefs contrary to your own.
Good luck,
Don....

To me, the wheat stalks on the link coin are much more spread out than on the posters coin.
Also, even though the front is blurry, I can see it's no match either.
I guess I'm a hater.

Even with your crappy pictures, it's quite obvious that it is NOT "100% exact coin" as you say.

So now that you perceive everyone as haters; (except the one who posted the coin that you want it to be) Won't take better pictures, and have made your mind, then what more do expect from anyone?

Both sides of your coin are DIFFERENT than the one in Post #2.

BTW, I buy 100 coin holders for $4.95. Want me to mail you some?

Cheers.

You can test for Silver, and it proberbly is, but that won't make the positive ID that you want it to be, we are all trying to help you, and are not haters. Nothing would give me, and Don greater pleasure, than to say that the coin is genuine.

I'll take my crow well done. Thats right you can add me to the list of haters cause my coin is not the sameone FoundInNC provided (my wheat is too close). Wow talk about putting my foot in my mouth. The question still remains do I have a counterfeit/copy of somekind. It just may be genuin from around 97 bc, I say this cause I seen some eariler coins with similor wheat patterns on them. Please let us not give up on this coin yet. The person who can nail this id well it would be quite a feather in their cap.
