Re: Today's finds :)

Nice finds. The arrow head is quite impressive..RH

Re: Today's finds :)

Are the ones with the indentations in them called drill stones?

I found something similar a number of years back, but the rock was about the size of a baseball. Just comfortable enough to hold in your hand.

Nice finds all the same.

Makes you sit and wonder what if any wild game was ever harvested with it back when the user had it in their possession.

Re: Today's finds :)

Great looking finds once again bud! Sounds like the hunt is going to be a huge success! Keep up the good work and I'll see you in a few months. :)

Re: Today's finds :)

O.K. that helps alot. The stones on the top are they flat on the other side? If not that they where most likely used in fire making. The stone would be held in the hand and a stick placed in the dip. This way when the stick was turnd to create friction it would not hurt the makers hand. Hope that helps.

Nice finds JD. I'm an Indian relic nut in my other life. That looks like an impact fracture on the point. It's cool knowing that it drew blood.

Here's one of my recent heartbreakers.
