Nice finds JD. I would have to say the top stones are for fire starting like badandy said, they just dont look right for a nutting stone. Congrats!

Hello, I use to live in Columbia, Missouri, and I did a LOT of field hunting and walking creeks and streams. By far the creeks and streams were the best to hunt. I found more there then any where else. My record for a day was 40 whole points, after a 6 inch gully washer.

The banks would break off and the points in them would wash down stream. Look on the down stream current side of rocks, logs in the water, clumps of grass and anything that will restrict the water flow and catch items from the current. The points get caught there and are out of the current.

I had a friend there following a small creek about 8 feet wide that flowed out of one field, and dropped over a small rock ledge of only about 18 inches and took off across another field. He dug down were the water dropped over the ledge in the hole caused by the falling water from the drop and found several dozens points that had accumulated over the years.

I dont miss the ice and snow, but I sure do miss the point hunting.

The library has a books on arrowheads and such...
maybe you know this or maybe not thought I would
just throw that in.
