Very cool. Quartz seems like it would be hard to knap — seems like it would fracture too easily. But I guess not!
 

Some quartz is higher quality than others. Nice finds. They say quartz is an indicator of gold. Something to consider.
 

I have a nice creek to search and this past year i've found a bunch of MALA artifacts. These two were found this past month. First is a guilford stemmed or MM variant. Second looks to be a quartz knife with a somewhat bifurcated base.

I haven’t found a whole quartz artifact yet this year. Good eyes to see that one hidden in the leaves. Thanks for sharing your good fortune

I find more broke pieces than wholes myself.
What is MALA?
Middle Archaic, Late archaic. The term was created by archeologists in the Southeast to describe points often found from these eras such as Morrow Mountains, Guilfords, Savannah Rivers, ect.
