Awesome Day for an Arrowhead Newbie

Today two of my nephews and I were out braving the cold with our metal detectors and we were not having success so I suggested we go look for some artifacts in a local field. I have only found two broken arrowheads over the course of the last 10 years so I'm a total beginner. Well let's just say I'm hooked after today. I found both of these in the first hour. I don't live in a well known area for these but obviously this spot is pretty good for around here! I'm curious what your thoughts are about the smaller of the two. That's a somewhat uncommon base not??

Like I said I know very little about this hobby but from my research it looks like it could be Lake Erie Bifurcated...??

I disagree with Up North, the triangle bifurcate could be a LeCroy and the side-notch could be any number of points...maybe a Big sandy.
The lithic looks about right as well.

Bifurcates are early archaic. Around 7000 BC. The side notches are usually associated with the middle archaic, around 3500 BC. Nice finds!

Small one looks like a Lake Erie bifurcate missing a little bit. They are found in Pennsylvania.

A Erie and a Big Sandy has my votes. 2 nice finds, thanks for sharing them with us.
The 1st one if I had found it here in Georgia I’d call it a nice Stanly

I bet that lake Erie is as thin as a tater chip the couple I have are.

Yes the Lake Erie one is super thin! I noticed that right away. I went back this afternoon and had more success! I'll post some pictures...

Had about two hours to visit this site again. I think this must have been a camp site as there are a lot of red fire rocks in the ground as well. Here are my best finds of the day.
My favorite is the tiny one of course! Theres no source of jasper close to me but I think that's what the material is...?

You might have the Northeastern correlate of Big Sandy, which would be Otter Creek. Just a thought, since Pa. is in the Northeast.
