Recent finds 9/25

Managed a few decent finds today before giving up due to heavy rain. Found a couple scrapers and small uniface blade. Quartzite guillford, and a point with a shoulder reworked into a drill or graver? Never seen that before. tomorrow should be some good hunting when / if the rain lets up...but I'm not complaining, let er rain. HH

So most likely just a resharpened edge and not multitool action...glad to know there is is Fox valley pockets around here.

Fox Valley was also in this area into North Ala. Very nice finds thirty7. Rain arghhhhh calling for 2 inches tomorrow coming off the cumberland plateau.

Nice handful there T7, what type of material? When you're finished with the rains, go ahead and send them back down this way!

Hey Docmann, I wish I knew more about the types of materials I find here. Unfortunately I've never found a book on local lithics that specifically breaks down the types. I think the dark Fox Valley and uniface piece is either Kanawha, or a grade of Hillsdale. The grey stuff looks like Hornstone. There is a mix of local cherts and flint that aren't named around here.
