Minelab Safari with SEF 8x6; coming soon: FORS Gold+
I've been able to get out a bit more with my new Safari lately. The silver is still eluding me, but I did manage a pretty beat up dateless Buffalo nickel (also posted in the Minelab forum) at about 5" and a Boy Scout Neckerchief slide in good condition down about 8" from a park that dates back to the 20's.

The nickel rang a solid +13 on the Safari and the neckerchief came in at +37. I think the neckerchief probably dates back to the 50s.

Nice find there on the buffalo, I think you are right about the age of the neckerchief slide, I've found several of them.

Nice job...It won't be long till you get an SLQ or better! Nice Buff though... jgas

Very nice. I am sure as you get used to the Safari, you will have some very nice finds including the silver!

love the bufflo no matter the shap it is a great find

Great going on the Buff and Neckerchief Pastor Ray.

Thanks for posting.

Thanks for the comments, everyone! Personally, I'm just dying to get over a silver coin just so I can hear how different the tone is to everything else. I can air test a silver coin, but you and I know it's quite different hearing it in the ground. I'm starting to get the deepies too (I consider over 7" "deep"), and hunting in all metal is a breeze for the most part now.

Ant, did you ever get out to the old Catholic School?
