On May 6th, I went metal detecting at my neighbor's house that was built in 1695, and I found my first Large Cent!!! Before I found the Large Cent, I found my second Indian Head Penny of the year and also a piece to an old buckle. The Large Cent showed up as a Half Dollar/Quarter signal on the White's CoinMaster at around 4/6 inches. When I popped this out of the hole, I knew right away that it was a Large Cent. It is a 1851 Large Cent, in excellent condition. I never thought I would find a Large Cent but I guess I just got lucky. So far 2011 is a great year for metal detecting for me!
