red tide is in Daytona

Hunted Daytona for a few hours yesterday, found only clad. Lifeguards were wearing masks and dead fish were washing up. Antihistamines are a must if you are working in these conditions. There was a strong onshore wind. The red tide causes burning throat and nasal passages, coughing and tearing eyes. Today I am going farther south, hopefully the algae has not gotten as far as Cocoa and the treasure coast.

Hey Tek, I experienced it a couple weeks ago. As soon as I got on the beach I had sinus , coughing and tearing eyes problems. It was very obvious there was red tide in.

Not sure if the red tide has made it to the Treasure Coast yet, but the stained water coming out and flowing south from Sebastian Inlet has been particularly nasty lately. These pics were taken last week.

That nasty stained water comes from the st sebastian river when they open the flood gates.its all in the intercoastal vis is like 3".it was like that 2 weeks ago.
