yes..... its spring break time, dont go to the beach and detect. We all ways have Red Tide..... just depends on how bad it is and your health. Even when its not present ..... waves can bring it up from in the sea weed.
 

red tide is always bad for snowbirds , but doesn't bother us Florida boys. SO That means , snowbirds stay out of the water. lol
 

I was on the gulf beaches last spring when it hit. There was a big fish kill and that next evening the wind was blowing off the water and I got in the toxic cloud and started coughing uncontrollably and had to get off the beach. Its bad stuff and up until then had no idea that it can effect the air and cause respiratory problems.
Yes I am a Canadian and I was on holiday and some day maybe I will be a snowbird. Waiting for a nor'easter as I write.
We do have red tide hear in Nova Scotia during the summer but did not know about the toxic cloud.

All my beach hunting on Florida's gulf coast has been very poor finds but the gulf beaches are a lot cleaner after two weeks of cleaning! Florida gets the better deal.
