I have heard about AI advising a man to kill himself which he did. And for a guy pretending to be a teen to test AI being advised to commit suicide.
Now AI on Reddit is advising users asking about pain relief to use Heroin. Dangerous stuff this AI.

The future of job interviews. AI?

AI advising users to die.

If it's on the internet, it's gotta be true.
Its getting that its hard to trust anything now unless you know the person.
There's been stories here from newies that are totally fabricated AI.
I used to like browsing just the pictures on a couple of wildlife and photography subs on Reddit. Don't even bother looking now as its awash with fake AI images.
Guy here in Australia won a first class African holiday for writing a rap song about Africa. He later admitted he never wrote a word of it, he had AI do it. There's groups selling music online that they didn't even write or make, AI. I listened to a couple of tracks and I'll be honest they sounded great. Its infiltrating everything.

Those responsible for programing the software to arrive at these suggestions needs to be prosecuted for at least endangering the welfare of children.
Hi. One of the problems is AI learns by taking in everything on the net. Everything everywhere is in some way taken in by AI to learn. Even things here, answers and responses, places and info. Trouble is it takes in everything, truth, lies, satire and cruelty of others. And given the moral decline in general of society and the toxic nature overall of online places like reddit, X and other places its learning and taking in all that. The worst of mankind. Ill admit I have used it to find places I have had trouble doing so other ways in regards to places to detect and its nailed quite a few right down to the gps coordinates. But the downsides to me outweigh the upsides.
Yeah, I too believe any harm created by AI should have those who own it prosecuted.

And given how much content online is actually being generated by AI these days, it's probably "learning" from AI generated content. Sounds like a negative feedback loop, if you ask me (taking its own garbage in, so it can put more garbage out).

Yeah that too. Coincidentally just twenty minutes ago a story from CBC The National from Canada was on our TV. The AI data centres are huge and require huge amounts of potable water for cooling and huge amounts of power. There may be the worlds biggest centre going to be built there. They will I feel eventually be used for nefarious reasons if not already.

I watched an interesting but horrifying video the other day about AI. It said when machines started making things it put a lot of people out of work, but those willing were able to learn to make machines and operate machines. Then when computers came and put people out of work, people that were willing were able to learn how to make and operate computers. But with AI and the robots, it will learn to recreate itself soon and won’t need human intervention. That will leave people in a bad place.

One example it gave was the auto industry. When cars took the place of horses blacksmiths that made horse shoes learned to build cars. Then the assembly lines became automated but someone had to make those machines and operate them. But soon AI and robots will operate those machines and be able to build them. The guy estimated in 50 years or less AI would engineer a better car, build the factory, and produce the car, without any human intervention except to say build it here.

Years ago, I struck up a conversation with an old equipment operator. He told me when he first got hired that his coworkers would have nothing to do with him and would hardly speak to him. After a few days he was really confused and had had enough of it. At break, he walked right up to the group and asked why the hill everyone was so stuck up about him. One replied, you were hired to run the new wheeled loader the boss just got. We have always loaded the truck with shovels and now some of us will get laid off because that machine can do the work of 30 men.
They were right, in due time there was a much smaller crew and more mechanized equipment, eventually around 45 workers down to 7. Now looking at a payloader, it is a great thing that can turn out piles of work although there was a time when workers used hand tools, worked hard and were glad to have the job. They didn't come in to work and turn a dial on the wall if they had a chill, they fired up a coal stove.
That story has stuck with me through the years where I see the back breaking work that our forefathers did. I am sure they b%#ched and complained at work too although they worked while they b%#ched and complained. Yes, you have to progress to build a country and to keep up and keep ahead although in todays time there is some so called
? progression? that is downright scary.
Kudos to the guys and gals in some rural parts of the planet that by choice (I know, sometimes circumstance)still work that way and still fire up that coal stove:santasmile:

It is a real world worry. I saw something yesterday how AI designed a new engine. It's gonna wipe out massive workforces and create a new type of poverty forcing millions to rely upon handouts.

Hmm, conjures up images of the old movies where ousted workers outside of business at night with pitchforks and torches 🫤

We are are at the tipping point where technology will topple our society. That’s my prediction. One generation from now. It will happen simultaneously across the globe. Third world countries will be the last to fall quickly in line after StarLink is given away nearly free to the entire planet. Mark my words. Whoever controls the rare earth minerals will rule as smartphones will need to be produced in un-fathomable quantities. Controller’s of power/energy will be next in line to affect our future.

There will be radical holdouts in the US that will consist of the Amish communities, religious “cults”, and mountain “country boy can survive” type communities. I hate to say it, but the AI has established roots already sufficient to alter minds.

This is why I’m prepped. Little things for little issues like a few days without power, but prepared for mountain life like it’s 1860 again when shtf. I’m good with that.

I think solar will provide some Independence. Get it while it’s still relatively inexpensive. That’s all for now.

Regular human people told me to use drugs as a kid, I didn't listen to them and then avoided them. If an AI told me to do drugs, I wouldn't listen to it either.

A while back I saw a piece where Elon Musk said AI had the potential to become a very dangerous and destructive technology. He of course is on the forefront of AI and said it had to be closely regulated and monitored. So far that doesn't seem to be the case. Maybe the Genie is out of the bottle.

I have noticed that Google Lens has gone downhill of late, it was OK on at least trying to tell you what was in a photo and coming close or getting it right, but now it's way off or not even trying, getting almost everything way wrong, you also used to be able to help it along by adding a bit of text of what you know about an item, but now I don't see a way to do that, it's practically useless now, IMHO.
