Went to the rattlesnake races in San Patrico and ofcourse my redneck husband had to race them, he has done this for several years now. (I know he missed that boat when God was handing out good sense) But no they can't just race the 2ft snakes like everyone else, him and another redneck has to ask for the big 6ft snakes. They ususally only race the 2ft ones and there are about 10 people who race at a time, but because of the size of the snakes they were racing they only let the 2 race them. The pics of him racing is at some distance, they wouldn't let you close and there was no way I would of got close

everbody has to have a little fun

Oh dear goodness I would NOT wanna get close either! I had my fill of rattlesnakes back when I had to go catch them daily at the resort. Folks said I would get used to it after awhile....nope....never did get used to it! I was very good at it but hated every second of it!

where's my rope?? LOL

rattlesnake catcher would not be a job I would want on my resume ;D

I did eat some rattlesnake meat again there but they didn't cook it right this time it was slimmy after you peeled the batter off it and really really tough and stringy this time.

I've ate it too.I'd do it again.

I read somewhere that rattlesnakes were being over hunted and the snakes with the larger rattles[read easy to hear and catch] were disappearing and the snakes was having larger numbers of snakes with smaller and quieter rattles. Apparently they was not being found as easily and hence breeding more. They belong in the wild. if you want a mice/rat/rodent explosion kill all the snakes.

What part of the snake did you get?

not sure but it wasn't the head or tail..lol

last year we had an over population of rattlers here.

When they have the saddle to fit, the jockey would have to be like the little guy in an old joke that broke his arm when he fell off the step ladder picking strawberries. LOL
