Today, I went to the bank to dump this week's (skunk) box of halves.
In the reject bin in the front of the coin machine were several coins. I grabbed them and put them in my pocket without looking at them.
About $460 into the mission, the coin machine jammed. The teller came over an worked his magic during which he dumped the internal reject bin into the trash barrel without looking at the contents.
After he left, I scavenged the trash barrel and put the coins in my pocket without looking at them. There were more coins in it than he had just dumped, so some teller must have emptied the internal bin earlier that day.
When I got home, I examined my loot : a few perfectly good U.S. coins (maybe about 75 cents total), a similar amount of Canadian coins, and these items I have attached pictures.
A 1920 Swiss half franc. 2.5 grams (same mass as a U.S. silver dime) of 83.5% silver.
A U.K two pound coin and 4 U.K. one pound coins -- next (first) time I travel to England, I'll be sure to bring them along.
