The best way to remove the coil cover is to have a very shallow pan and fill it with warm water to soak the bottom of the coil only and use a screwdriver to tap on just the edge around the outside. Don't insert the driver between the cover and coil. They are not glued on the coils unless they might be used.

Most coil covers are so loose you can lose them.

Thanks Sandman I was thinking about hot water but only after I cracked it. Man is that thing on there tight!! I don't think I have to worry about mine coming off but its hard to get the sand out of it. R/Mike

If you don't want to use a cover, put Duct Tape on the bottom of the coil. Stays on and works great. And it will save the bottom of the coil.
