You can get some good info on wrecks and such at...

For example the Privateer's link... The Fame so called wreck has a few threads here on tnet. After capturing a British Schooner it overturned in a hurricane dumping the goods. The Fame was repaired but the goods were lost.
It's assumed that coins found on a nearby beach are from the Fame.
