Hello,
Managed to hunt this morning and last night's low tides, and had mixed results. Last night was a day of pennies, 16 to be exact. Had to hunt the dry sand to get any silver, and only scraped 1 nickle and 1 dime from it. Lowest clad total for a hunt to date. I did have a few interesting finds tho. Was mostly up on the wet sand, but decided to duck intot he water for a little while at one point. Very soon in I had a low tone blast in my ears. Double checked it - nothing. Moved left, another loud blast - double checked it, nothing again. At that point I thought, "sunglasses floating along", and was determined to get them. Next time I heard it blast, I slammed the coil down to pin the target, then used my feet to hold it down. Managed to feel it with my foot, and ducked down to grab it, and as I was coming up, I thought, "thats not glasses....". Instead, I was greeted with a wristwatch, and it was still working! WOOT! I have been in dire need of a working watch to hunt the water with. Been home late so many times...lol.
On the way home, with only the watch, a handful of pennies, and trash, I decided to hit the dry sand to collect some clad. Dont like going home with a little, as I love seeing the pile grow. Being late, with noone around but a few romantic couples, I notice a small boat laying on the dry sand. Seeing as it appeared abandoned, I deflated it and brought it home. Definatly one of my more unusual detecting finds
.
Last night I also met a fellow T-Net used: JT in Virginia. Very nice guy, and well met.
This morning went fairly well. Managed over 3 bucks in clad, which is a good day for me. Also managed the pendant shown below. Pity that there si copper showing through on the chain and pendant, but, it is a pretty one at least. The wife has already laid claim to it, and I may never see it again. Aside from those, just a junk ring and earring. The coolest thing I saw today was the pod of dolphines just outside the waves. About 15 of them playing and having a good time. Even saw one come completly out of the water.
So some nice junk, some clad, a boat and a watch was the tally for 2 trips. No gold or silver, and we are still sanded in. But its looking promising, as I found more good targets in the water today than I have in a while. Hope ya'll are raking in the loot,
May the gold be with you,
Anthony
