So there was a total 6 of us today (August 31st). The 3/4 mile walking trip was actually close to 2 miles each way, but we prevailed. The hunt wasn't very successful, but a wheat penny was found, and a possible civil war link. Some stove legs were also found plus an axe or hatchet head in great condition.

I will let the people post what they found. I took a couple pictures not many at all. But I will post them in about an hour.

Here is the pictures I took, didn't get all 6 of us in a photo.

I had a great time today at the hunt today. Thanks Brion for putting the hunt together. Here's what I found at the base of the original bridge(I think)the smaller one with the granite top on it. There were initials carved into the mortar under that granite rock on top from 1914.

Hey Brian,
Thanks for the invite today.
It was quite interesting even if we didn't hit the mother lode.
I enjoyed meeting the other guys and enjoyed talking " detectin' " with them.
Those were some nice photos you got also.
Perhaps we can all get together again sometime.

Thanks again,
Felix

I am glad you enjoyed it. Wish we found more, but I guess you can't be successful in every hunt. Can't wait to do another one again, but in a more producing place with little or no trash. If your ever going out alone or with your friend and want me to tag along, let me know. I detect weekly.

Brian, Had a great time yesterday getting out, doing some MDing, and meeting new friends who enjoy the hobby also. It's not always about the finds as much as meeting new folks and hearing thier stories of recent and past hunts. Thanks for organizing the hunt. Maybe in the near future we can get together again and find some more sites to hit. My son and I had a great time, as I always enjoy getting out MDing and even better when my son comes home for a weekend and joins in. Not a total loss yesterday, even though the "wheat" that I found under the base of the tree could not be cleaned up to see the date. Thanks again, and glad to meet all you guys. Looking forward to doing it again.
