Stick to the heavy iron and there'll be more goodies there - when you get sick of the iron take a stroll and pick up the random finds, that's what I do anyway!

I think three of my spanish were random finds too...must be a Fisher thing :D

Well it only makes sense someone finds their best in the area they hunt. BY FAR my best are from within the iron. I paused for a second to think about what have I found away from the site and the first thing that comes to mind is my first cob from 10 years ago! I guess I'm an iron lover.

I'd bet my detector there's still more than that there. You seem to have found as many coppers as buttons and that can be an indication you're a little too picky and leaving buttons behind. It's very possible it's just the site, but any day IH and I have dug 9 coppers we've probably found 30-40 buttons.

It is / was the site, today I got 1 copper, and 6 buttons. It is tough going with lots of hot rocks around here. No question there are a few more targets there.

Hot rocks would be a new experience for me. Glad we don't have em.

Hot rocks plague the lands down here in SJ. If you look at the bed of my pickup youll see ALOT. They come up as 44ish on the T2 but when there buried and big they can jump from 80 to 40 thinking its a coin/button on its side or near iron so you gotta dig em. Just a necessary evil here as well.

Definately grab a small coil

Hit the iron patches with a slow sweep in 0 disc and the ground will really come alive :coffee2:
