Plan A, which had us returning to a field we haven't done in about 4 years was a bust after just over 1 hour of blanking. I hoped that with a new machine & a few turns of the plough we might get a couple of Roman Coin's & hopefully a Silver as rare as the one in the link above. Wasn't happening.
Therefore, we returned to the Roman Virgin Site that Cru'dad scouted out yesterday. He had 3 scrappies & 3 buttons in 1.5 hrs & the condition of the barley stubble had improved (weathered down), & the ground was still wet. We gridded in the opposite direct from our first coverage last month & had our best day on this site with just short of 3 hours hunting;
(4 hours total was enough in this sun!)
