Found this in my front yard yesterday after work before the rain started. very plain on the front doesn't appear to be any design on it, having a hard time reading the maker marks on the back. very happy with the find
:headbang:

Old but a bit later. Rev War period usually don't have a makers mark.

my house was built in 1989, but the land has been used since early 1700's Rev War Officer farmed this land who lived 200 yards up the street

In that case I would dig some holes 200 yards up the street.

The back mark is "Warranted*Orange". That is a fairly common back mark for the period, which I would say is 1800-1830's.

now that you mentioned the back mark being warrented orange i can see it on the back THANKS MUCH :hello2: :hello2: I'm not very familiar with buttons yet, but i will I have a civil war era button i should post also that i found in the front yard thanks again. Dean

Nice button :icon_thumleft: I would search my yard a little slower and see what else is hiding there
