I went out today to a spot on the battle of Rhode Island where the battle was and also a British encampment was.
I started out in one field in the morning and found a tag my 2 buddies think it's a slave tag. But I'm not sure. I know the island we are hunting(Newport)was a major port of the slave triangle. The tag says HOLL but the end is damaged so I imagine it is holly.
After lunch we hit a different field. Within 15 minutes I found a Brown Bess ball. 10' later I found the musketball dice in perfect condition(my buddy also found one in the same field). 10' later I found a musketball game piece. It is perfectly squished on both sides.
About an hour later I found another game piece. Its the flat musketball it looks like there's a crown on one side and a circle with a line through it.
Then I found an American musketball followed by a British musketball then the nicest flat button I've ever found. Then to end the day another British musketball.
I still think I'm dreaming!!! And I'm going to wake up and dig up pull tabs all day.
FYI my 2 buddies found a total of 5 Musketballs and a 1735 king George II.
