Revolutionary War British Regiment Badge?????

Hey everyone, I found this item today, i believe it is a Revolutionary War British Regiment badge. I believe that it it brass. If anybody knows anything about it or if I am wrong and you know what it actually is any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for looking

I think that is a badge for the Royal Welch Fusiliers.

I think it is a harness decoration ... boss .. a strap end or the likes.

Have you seen these before? That's what i thought it possibly could be but i have my doubts because everyone else is saying it's to a horses harness, so i'm not sure.
