I recently found these this past weekend and was hoping someone might help me in identifying these buttons. I can't seem to find any info on them as of yet. 20170521_201424.webp

Does the backmark on the first button read "wishart"? It looks like AY 29 C in Alberts Button Book page 50-51. If so that would make your button an Artillery one dating to around 1810. Did you dig it?

Hello!
Thank you for your response and your help. Actually, it reads what appears to be VISILATI in all caps, but it is extremely small, so the L might be a T and vice versa.
Yes, I dug both of those buttons up in the eastern part of North Carolina this past weekend. However, I am unable to find out any info on that word.
