Hello this is my first post. I recently found a virgin Revolutionary War camp in the piedmont of NC. The picture is of a tombac button and a yet unidentified object. Well made and blacksmithed with small hole in center, broken on both ends? Any ideas? A state archaeologist said they found one at the Battle of Guilford Courthouse also. I will be adding new pics of of this exciting campsite find. Knee buckle, and sword scabbard tip, etc. Thanks and CHEERS!

I'm actually wondering that might be the side of a 1700s shoe buckle frame. The pin hole for the chape would make sense. Seeing the size of it, that's the most likely ID.

Best Wishes,

Buckles

I agree with BuckleBoy. I recognized the shape with pinhole at the center, but couldn't recall the item. Good job, BuckleBoy. :)
