Hi,

I am looking for a metal detecting partner for Rhode Island. I am a 43 year old male, former CIA and Special Forces. Retired now. I found a beautiful girl at one of the casino's, I got her into collecting coins, she begged me, she wanted to go but she was always working. She wanted to go night detecting on the beach after work but the wife said no no no.... :-) Temptation maybe...LOL...I had to hear it from my wife for 3 weeks...So, that is the story in a nut shell. I own a water detector that can be taken down approx. 300 feet. I like water detecting because I feel most of the treasure worth a lot of money, is buried in the ocean. Anyone interested, drop me an email: support@ustreasureclub.com - Web Site is under construction. I will be forming a detecting club in Rhode Island once the site is up and running.

Thank you and best of luck to everyone detecting!!!

Hello. I saw your post on TreasureNet forums. I am interested in treasure hunting in RI as a hobby, but don’t have any experience or know of good places. Last year I bought a very old boxy metal detector at a flea market on a whim and found that it really works quite well. If I get into it I am willing to upgrade to some better equipment. I am also a military guy, have Dive certification but haven’t been in a long time and don’t have own equipment. I’m a regular guy with a family, but basically without a hobby and kind of bored and looking for something to do during down time. I especially would like exploring “ghost towns”, abandoned properties, old home sites/cellar holes, former attraction sites; amusement parks, drive-ins, old ski areas, etc. I am somewhat of an amateur “picker”, like antiques and nostalgia. Let me know if you want to talk more about it. You can reply by e-mail or call my cell at 401-580-1313. Jim

Hello, I too am from Rhode Island and looking to start up metal detecting. I just bought a whites coinmaster GT that I still have not got to use, nor have I ever used a MD. I am also interested in some of the locations you have stated. I'm only 23 years old but I have always been a treasure hunter/seeker since a young age. I frequent estate sale, yard sales etc. I would consider myself a amateur picker also I guess.
