rifle part?

i am thinking this is a spencer carbine breechblock....i found this is in my yard with my garrett ATpro....it was about a foot down......

am i right?.......does anyone have any info to share?.....

Sure looks like a Spencer receiver to me...a little more cleaning and better/closer pics would help to nail it down.
