I got out for a very short hunt this evening and this ring was my first signal. And, it was the only good signal I got. I can read two of the marks but am not sure about the third. The first mark I could read was the 925 one and it got me a little excited. Then, after a light cleaning I was able to read the second mark and it is Thailand. That brought me down! The mark after Thailand is the one I am not sure of but it looks like "LAN" or "CAN" or maybe "GAN". Can anyone help me with the marks and the ring itself? I know 925 is supposed to be silver but the Thailand part makes me question that. The ring did give me a solid 86 reading on my DFX. t was about 5"s deep.

The first mark inside of the rectangular stamp is the country mark which as you know is Thailand. The second mark in the stamp beside it is the Maker's Mark. It has nothing to do with the silver. If the 925 has no other markings next to it, then it should be silver. Based upon everything stated in your post, the quality of the ring's craftsmanship, the 925 silver stamp, that it is hallmarked leads me to say that it is silver. I can't read the Maker's Mark in the picture but if you can look at it with a magnifying glass or a jewelers loupe to make out exactly what it on it, it should be pretty easy to find the maker online. Just be sure to note that it is from Thailand first and then add the exact, maker's mark. Is there a third, darker stone set in it or is one missing?

I too found a sterling ring from Thailand a few weeks ago with same marks as yours. I tested with acid and if was a legit ring. I suspect yours is silver also, I always test silver from any Asian country as I have come across silver plated when jewelry was marked sterling or 925. The stones would also have to be tested. Rarely but not always precious stones would not be set in sterling. Nice find congrats!

The second mark looks like "HAN". There are three stones in the ring. I hope these pictures are a little clearer.

Nice photos. Han Jewelry in Thailand makes a lot of real silver jewelry. :icon_thumright:

Thanks. Next time I am in town I will run it by my wife's jeweler and let him look at it.
