Can anyone help with identifying and maybe evaluating this ring?
It's previous owner who has passed away now, was a treasure hunter,
Someone has told me that he has seen it with him long ago, and asked him where it was from, and he said that someone either from afghanistan or yemen gave it to him, he couldn't remember which was it that he said.
I'd appreciate it if someone could provide any information about this one.
Thanks.

Looking at the band it looks of not the greatest quality.
Might be the lighting even but it looks like,
another color (copper).

Thank you for your reply.
It is just the lighting, there is no coppery hue to it,
It is most likely silver,
It was sitting unattended to for a long time, but no sign of oxidation, and it was tarnished and i cleaned it. also, it is really malleable.

I am not an expert at all, but the person who owned it was a treasure hunter/seller, he used to sell very ancient artifacts to collectors at high price tags.

Not all of them were necessarily precious metals or of a high quality.

So I'm trying to figure out which era this is from, and what its value is.
Thanks again.

The style of the outer bezel looks like it's made used 2 different size files. Then the rope one is holding the setting.
What going on with this part, damage or just crudely made?

The stone is quite interesting. I’m concerned about the metal quality. Either poor to begin with, or deteriorated.

I'm not exactly sure why it appears to be chipped in this picture, but it is not, here are more close ups to the same area

That's very interesting,
It looks kinda similar,
I has a feeling that the ring i had was roman.
Do you think that those rings listed on ebay are legit or a replica of a sort? It is quite cheap for an ancient ring no?

Yeah, it is not the best of craftsmanship the band is too thin also. But i think the quality is good, assuming it is ancient.

I think they're made to sell to tourists.

I can't give you any information on the ring but it is COOL to look at!

Sadly looks like the original patina has been cleaned off which really hurts dating and value. I have seen similar that were Roman. I have a ring that is dated from the 1300's and the band is very crude/thin like this one.

Here it is pre cleaning, I hope this helps identifying and evaluating it.

I think that it is roman as well.

The way this ring was constructed I would place it as 20th century tourist jewelry. That split shank and gobs of wire solder scream 70's - 80's junk jewelry. It could be Roman, Egyptian or Indian in origin but I doubt it's more than 50 years old.

Could be. I have zero knowledge of historical jewelry but wonder if that solder might be a repair. Standish please keep update us if you ever find out more. Cool ring nonetheless

Maybe try looking up Native American tribal made/Cheerokee made rings. It's setting looks very similar to mine.

Update:
For anyone who is interested,
Someone has identified the ring.
The carved stone is a genuine ancient artifact, it is from the sasanian empire
But the silver is much recent, maybe 3 or 4 decades old.
