There are on this ring some letters, but very bad visible ....

But more inf I have`nt , on this find-day I look around on field ...Finds olmost I have`nt, but when I returned to my car , was nice signal by detector :) - & I dug up this old ring :)

A light cleaning with soap and water and light rub to top will help us.

Ok... NOT saying this is what it is BUT...

I have seen a similar "tic tac toe bubble gum machine ring" that looks very similar to this.

Again... not saying this is what it is... but perhaps a better cleaning will shed some light on this.

IF.... repeat IF this is not what it is... you may have found a real trade item.

Around here, very, very old is 150-175 years. What you have there looks ANCIENT!

I would think a gum machine ring would be either small, to fit a child’s finger, or have one of those cheesy, one-size-fits-all adjustable backs.
He’s saying it’s quite large. That alone makes me wonder. I do see your line of thought though.
