We've been blessed with a little warm spell in the Mid-Atlantic that has mostly thawed the ground, but still cold enough that it hasn't turned to mush yet. I was able to turn up these 2 silver rings in 2 hunts this week from local parks.
pic 1 - Still a little bit frozen in the early morning.
Pic 2 and 3 - Nice little ring marked 950 18K. It rang up between dime and quarter, so figured it was silver, but the 950 mark had me stumped. 18k, maybe white gold? but it should've rang up much lower (by nickels) in that case. The thought of platinum crossed my mind, because platinum is marked 950 but usually 950 Pt. Wishful thinking. After some research, I think it's Mexican silver at a higher grade than normal (silver normally 925), and the shamrock on front is 18k overlay. In any case, I'll take it. Does anyone disagree w that assessment? Its an adult ring, but kinda light, I think Plat would be heavier.
Pic 4 - 925 ring that's led a rough life.
