Well, I didn’t really fall asleep but I put the XP DEUS away for a few years.

Recently moved to Coastal Georgia and have been using the DEUS on my property in search of history. I am a novice but feel that I am doing ok with my current setup which still has Version 3.2 software and the original black 11” coil. My questions to the experts is:

1) With my current coil, is it worth it to update the software.

2) With all of the hype and user accolades of the HF coil, would a beginner like myself benefit from purchasing one or just stick with the original black 11” coil?

Thanking you in advance for your valued assistance.

The HF coils IMO are game changers. Haven’t used my stock coil since. Have to upgrade to use them.

@ V .... Where is the link to your post about all the coils?

I got the HF coil and sold the one that came with the machine. In your case, take it out as is for a spin for a few times before you spend $$$ on another coil. Then decide. I call my HF coil the "little laser" and it does great, especially on tinsy tiny objects. You will have to upgrade, but it's easy, even I was able to do it. The HF coil IMO is better than the X35.

Thank you all for taking the time to reply.

The property has very little trash and I am still finding small objects down to 14”. I am basically digging up everything as it helps me to understand the DEUS better.

As smokeythecat suggested, I think I’ll use what I have a little longer until I gain more experience.

Thank you again.

I bought the 9" HF coil and never put the LF coils back on the Deus.
I have since traded my two LF coils for a X35 11".
I found that when V4x came out it helped with my LF coils.
V5x is for the pinpointer and the X35 coils.
You will need one of the upgrades to run any of the newer coils.
Don't forget to write down any saved programs before the upgrade.
