I knew a fellow who made a double sided frame, with each side having a piece of glass in it. He filled the void between the glass with all the pieces of glass he found, and then hung it in a window with the most sun exposure, and when the sun came trough all the different pieces of glass the effect was stunning!

Some could be bezel set in fine silver to make pendants .
