river raid

i've been raiding the dry river banks on the passaic river in paterson nj for the last few days and theese are some of the bottles i've found.the round bottom torpedo has no markings ,the aqua mug base hutch is an old beer bottle from the wm s. kinch & co.,the clear bottle that resembles a hutch still has the rubber stopper in it is an r. swinley & co,the soda bottle looking one has braun bros. on it thelast 3 i just described also has paterson nj embossed on them,and the aqua tall bottle that has rib or fluted design has pittsburgh pa on the bottom leaving the other tall clear bottle with the rings around neck of bottle has C-1936 duraglas on its bottom the 2 tall bottles measure 11 1/4 " high thanks for looking

Good stuff! Epackage, a fellow bottle hunter, collects Paterson bottles. I'm sure he could give you some info.

I think that first one is a round bottom soda. A torpedo has a sharper more distinctive bottom. Those are some really good finds. Will you send more pictures when you've given them a bath? Did you have to dig for these or were they sticking out of or resting where the water had receded?

some were on dryer land only a little burried and others were in a couple inches of water partialy exposed

My river site has only given up one hutch, and my friend found it. Ever since I've been hungry for one. I know they're out there!

Cool finds George, while these are fairly common bottles for the area it's great to know that someone is looking in the river for bottles. I'm not sure where exactly you're doing your searches but I'd keep at it if I were you, you seem to have found a good area or area,s and you might find a real gem in your searches. went back out and found this and others will post their pic's in a new post when i take them this is a 1920-1930 old crow whiskey decanter bottle ,Digger odelle sold an amber version at his site but being that it was sold i dont know how much mine might be worth but anyway this sure is a nice looking bottle thanks for looking

How tall is it George? I don't think it's a decanter, it looks like a whiskey flask missing it labels, it would have had a metal cap that screwed down and held a cork in the opening. The cap could be used as a shot glass...

Without the labels and metal there's not much in the way of value I afraid.
