Rock identification help needed

I found a rock in Sydney Australia on the edge of the harbour buried and was uncovered due to deep excavations in the early 90s. I wonder what a have had for all these years? It appears to have bugs and multiple rainbows inside.

I'm not an expert but it looks like a smokey quartz crystal, are you sure those are bugs, they could just be some kind of mineral inclusions.
