I just thought that would mane a good title... has nothing to do with the images... (or does it?)

... I have been working on cleaning the hardened sand that covers this agate(?), it's like concrete... little by little I have been oiling it with mineral oil, and toothbrushing away the sand-crete, then letting it drying and bristling it... today I thought I'd show you what it looks like before it's finished... just a rock?

These pictures are with mineral oil on it... if you would like to see it without let me know... it's not as muddy looking... the agate is a dark blue and green, with the red on the side... with white mixed in... these photos are taken from one side, then the front, then the other side.

Any tips on how to remove crusty concreted sand without destroying the chemical composition, which would be hard to do, so I'm open to suggestions that would/could speed up the process...
