ROCK QUARRY TREASURE

There is a story about two bank robbers that ditched their car with the loot in the trunk while being chased. The car was dumped in an old rock quarry located off Hwy 61 near Wartburg. The quarry is filled with water. There is a junkyard at the quarry. I went there years ago and there was an old gentleman living in a trailer at the junkyard. I asked him if there are any cars sunk in the water. He said no but we went to the waters edge and I saw a license plate about 20' deep in the water. It was getting late and we never did get a chance to dive in there. Might be worth checking out.

I just joined up on here! Do you remember what the name of this place was called? HWY 62 runs close through Wartburg, but 61 is a ways further away. Thanks for any additional info!
