I thought it was a little odd to find a Susan B. Anthony dollar coin at 116th street about a foot from a garbage can. Do people still use these? I coin roll hunt & have only come across 5 of these in the last year, so I thought it was extra odd to find one on the beach 30 seconds after I began!

Still looking for my first gold or silver on the beach. Sooner or later I will find you!

I remember playing carnival games on New Jersey and Myrtle Beach Shores. We used to hand them dollars and they would have us deposit Susan B's into the coin slots. The Susan B has been replaced the the Sacagewa (sp?) as the newest dollar coin. 1979 is one of the most common years that coin was minted. Somebody probably dropped one in the sand after getting change.
