Never heard of the place til now..and I want to go lol. sounds like a great place to collect some interesting geodes,agates etc..please post a review after your stay if possible.

If I recall Rock Hound State Park is unique in being the only one in the US. From what I've read, and from what one forum member posted some years ago, agate, geode, chalcedony and a variety of other minerals can be found there. One suggestion was to look to the hills there for geode's. Most of the lower area's are pretty well picked over from what I read. Luck to ya and look forward to what you find.

A lot of places around there are good, look up Deming rockhounds and ask them. BLM land is open to looking.
