Rockhounding weekend in AZ

Normally, I'm a gold prospector, love it...but my girlfriend is more into rocks, gems and minerals. I took a guess on where to go and I think we did really good. The pictures dont do any justice, the colors are far better in person. It was a great weekend.

Got yourself a rich set of seams there Copper minerals in AZ have a high affinity with gold there as well. Looks that you've some great malachite there with some turquoise or azurite mix. I'm sure the colors really are better than the photo's. Hahh! With any luck there are some vugs in the seams that will yield crystal or nodules for ya.

Wow amazing! Are there any spots near Mesa that you'd recommend? My niece is visiting next month and loves rocks. She is only three but she wants to go digging for treasures. Thank you in advance.

Those are beautiful. I visited southern AZ in the 80's and loved the beauty of the state! Hope to try prospecting there one day!
