Found this roman coin near to the location of the hammered coins, nothing else of interest but I have feeling that something else might turn up on another dig.

What can one say to such a pristine find? Here in the states we get excited with an 1800's dated coin and your coins are a thousand years older than that. I have a difficult time even fathoming what you find there in Europe.

Anyway, i am glad you found such a nice coin and hope that your remaining search of that area is bountiful

Very nice find Gandalf! I went to a Constantine exhibition in Trier several months ago at the Trier museum, beautiful displays. I work just 45 miles from there and can't find a Roman nail. HH, Mike
