We saw the owner today to discuss the sale of this field to another of our land-owners. Good job our permissions can continue even after the weekend. Therefore, this was the last day of the hunt for this owner. He told us that the ankle breaker we are on was last ploughed that deep 12 years ago!
We asked him about our competition & he said that when he stated how well we did, he said he must be doing something wrong...lol Now that its sold we will have zero competition, not that we were bothered.
I did 4 hours & Cru'Dad managed a little over 3 hours. We are now gridding out of the most productive area & the coins are getting more spread out. We will change our plans for next time & try a couple of other sites instead.


20 Roman Coins - 2 Good ones, & a rarer one of Lucinius II, not got many of him (5).UPDATE - A new type for the collection (a first).

Not really, as last time the Saxon Brooch came up from the deep, its just the area we are now covering.

When I work with the open minded ones (still some anti-detectorist feeling out there), they are pretty much excited by every metal find we show them. They get so few in their career, we often increase their find rate in the first morning by 1000%.

The completion must flopping around the field like a headless chicken. That or just stuffed everything in the pocket and claimed dumb to the land owner as those types exist as well.
