Very nice find............ it never ceases to amaze me the condition of finds like this with the age they have..
Hi Stew and welcome to Tnet

, I agree about the condition of finds. It amazes me too, a Roman coin will come out of the ground almost perfect and a Viccy penny will be hardly recognizable

That's really nice mate

I've got one, but it has no enamel left on it and is nowhere near as nice as that
You're just saying that to be nice

Still looking for my first one of them

Great find Ian....I was in the Yorkshire Wolds today near Bridlington and you could feel that wind there..Brrrrrr
SS
It was definitely brass monkies out there today

, but knowing your find rate, you'll find one very soon and probably complete

Thanks Dave, I don't think it has a monetary value as such, maybe if it had been complete

. The value to me is that I found it

Had a few, infact I think I have that design. Always thought it's Romano-Celtic in style

Good base indicator for a good site
Hi Cru, this site was deep ploughed this year for the first time for many years, and this field is split into 2. The other half is going under the plough soon. It's right next to where I found the Thrymsa, but I am finding great big lumps of hypocaust this year, and my roman count for this field for the last 3 outings, of about 4 hours or so each, is 27, mostly grots, but 2 silver denarii and a nice sestersii came out for my friend in the last 2 outings.

We turned our clocks forward last Sunday.
Great find you have there. HH, Roger
Thanks Roger, everyone knows by now how I feel about messing around with the clocks
