Oh man I think it looks great the way it is ! Please don't shine that baby up. It looks fantastic and OLD

I would think that the amount of black and how deep it is, would be evidence that it's real. If you take all that off, it would look like any of the fakes.

No, this one I would leave it just as is, maybe a sealant if there is such a thing.

WTG!

Awesome find. Leave it as it is. The patina on this one enhances rather than detracts.

Leave it as it is! That patina took 2,000 years to form, wouldn't want to mess it up by cleaning it, then you would have to wait another 2,000 years to fix the mistake.

:weee:

she looks very sweet the way she is

Nice digs and thanks for the pictures . Leave it as is

I believe leave as is! Great find

Man that is cool.. Don't touch it. Looks awesome the way it is.

I only ever found one roman coin and made the mistake of cleaning it. It was ruined.

That's looks beautiful! She's in great shape for living underground that long.

That Patina is GORGEOUS ! Please don't touch it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Seems like everybody loves it just the way you found it . Great find.

Welcome back.

I would leave it.

Don't do it!!

Nice digs, leave it, looks good.

I would leave that one alone.
That's just not a common coin you should be experimenting with.
You may ruin it's value if you do.

I shine all my silver coins up with baking soda and a toothbrush. But those are my coins from the 30s - mid 60s and non key dates. That one my friend I would put in a protective holder like it sits. Beautiful like it is.

If toning was patchy or unattractive I might clean, but this is nice and even, all the detail is perfectly visible, and as such FAR more attractive than a shiny coin.
