Field hunting is out of sight so i followed the invitation from a buddy. He has a nice place on hand, roman and medieval, mixed with WWII... Unfortunately the soil was so dry and the old coin are laying deep there. We were not very successful. Only two scrappy romans, a 10 Pfennig coin and a Deutsche ArbeiterFront (German Laborers) pin. Here are the pics. Wheatie for size reference.

I feel your pain.

Roll on harvest!

Love the WW2 stuff!
Ground out here is as hard as concrete and dry as hell, can feel your pain.

Nice finds. Here in the states the corn is starting to grow so I'm looking forward to the fall harvest.

Nice variety of finds, congrats!

Not much good things left...exept the ammo! Ground is so hard, i use an ice pick in these area. Works fine in the stony ground.

Thanks! The first potatoes are harvested, but these fields are planted again soon...

Well done on a hard-ground hunt!! :occasion14:

Thanks Papa Bear! I read you were successful on your last hunts too....!

Thanks! It was a long day but worth it. I will be back at it this next weekend for the last time in NC. I should pop back up again back in Utah sometime in July.

There's that Nova penny again. Is that a butter knife in the top left corner of the pic. with Bisflalan can? What is Bisflalan anyway? Nice finds Lu. Good hunting.

How awesome it must be to hunt in Germany! My very first metal detecting adventure was in the city of Erlangen Germany back in 1977. You must have some very cool finds over there!

I've spent a good deal of my life reading WW2 history. I'll bet it is a thrill to dig those historical artifacts over there. :icon_thumleft:
