DigginGirl and I will be camping at a private campground along the Potomac River near Romney this weekend. Research has revealed a very cool history. I have permission to detect. Hope to find some Civil War Relics.

I can hardly wait!!!

Sweet...wish you all luck. I thought i was a loner around these parts. I work just up the road from Stephens City. I was hunting a few fields my boss owns in your area, the other week. Found a few horseshoes, it was too wet from all the rain, decided to save it for another day. Thought about checking out a few spots around Romney but never made it yet. I did get a chance to check out an old stone house on the Potomac (my nephew knew the owner who gave us permission) it was closer to slanesville. Needless to say i was new to md and didn't know anything, but i did find an 1875 lantern top.
