Rookie from Imperial County California

Hello all. I'm I'm new to the sport. Just got a bounty hunter time Ranger for Christmas with a Garrett Pro AT on order. Plenty of old gold mines around here in the desert. Also looking to go coin shooting at the sand dunes. No Local metal detecting clubs here however. I still have much to learn about operating the time Ranger. Any advice or links you could offer would be much appreciated.
