Rosenblatt Stadium July 3rd Celebration

Those familiar with the College World Series will recognize the stadium name. The CWS is held her each year. It is also home to the Omaha Royals, farm team to the KC Royals. I was part of the flag detail that unfurled and held a 30' x 60' American Flag while the National Anthem was sang. After the singing, a UH-60 Blackhawk flew over. The downdraft even at that altitude was incredible, and made it very difficult to steady the flag. We prevailed. Then there was a game between the Royals and the Oklahoma Red Hawks. The royals lost . After the game, there was a concert by Mulberry Lane, then a spectacular fireworks show that lasted 22 minutes. The night was a dream come true for me in regards to participating in the opening ceremonies. Several fans offered their thanks to me for serving. I look on it as a privalege to be doing it for this great nation.
