I thought I found another round ball but after thinking about it the sprue (sp?) is huge, I can’t imagine someone firing it with that much lead hanging off the side. Then I thought maybe it’s the base of a slug but what are the chances it would end up so round after being fired. The last picture shows what may be a mold seam... or a scratch...
What do you guys think?

Could have been fired with the spru But I think a lot of the damage I see may have been caused by rodents.

Ah! Not fired a deformed maybe dropped or pulled then chewed

Could the deformity and hole be from a bullet worm (Or what ever it's called) used to remove stuck rounds!

Maybe cheaper bullets sold as irregular . Came from the old Dollar General back in the 1860's

Wouldn’t “dollar” general in 1860 be an expensive store?
