Found this at a house that was built in 1700s and added on in 1800s. It’s about 1” high/long and 3/4” wide. Internal thread. Cast brass or bronze and may have been silver plated. The scroll-work is quite beautiful. It’s very hefty but no clue as to what it might be. Thanks for any insight!
